Preparation

Capsule: 300mg to 1,800mg (follow directions on the label)  

Tincture: 1ml – 3ml twice daily (follow directions on the label)

Tea: up to 3 cups a day

Infusion: up to 1 1/2 cups a day, use topical application for skin ailments

 

 Contraindications

May slow blood clotting, so taking tulsi along with medications that also slow clotting might increase the chances of bruising and bleeding. May stimulate uterine contractions, not recommended for pregnant women. Extra caution should be taken if you are nursing in which case supplementation should be consulted through your doctor. If you have low blood pressure or low blood sugar, take the supplement with food as it lowers blood sugar and can make a person feel light headed and weak.
